Your Questions, Answered.
At Worldwide Sourcing & Solutions (WSS), we believe that transparency is the foundation of a strong partnership. We understand that choosing a manufacturing partner is a critical decision, and you likely have specific questions about our capabilities, quality standards, and logistics.
Below are answers to the most common questions we receive. If you don’t see the information you need, please contact our team directly.
Manufacturing & Capabilities
Do you have domestic manufacturing capabilities?
Yes. We offer U.S.-based production in central Illinois (including facilities in Peoria, Lexington, Varna, and Chenoa), with in-house capabilities including precision machining, metal forging, laser cutting, and welding. This allows us to handle rapid prototypes and urgent domestic needs while complementing our global network.
Do you handle prototyping or only high-volume production?
We handle both. Our dual-footprint model allows us to utilize our U.S.-based manufacturing for rapid prototyping and complex low-volume runs, while leveraging our global network (India, Vietnam, China) for cost-effective high-volume production. We scale with your project needs.
What are your production specialties?
We specialize in a broad range of manufacturing solutions, from precision-machined components to forged parts weighing up to 250 pounds. Our expertise spans low- to high-volume runs with strict adherence to quality and industry standards. Whether you need complex hydraulic components or heavy structural weldments, we have the capacity to scale with your demand.
What industries do you serve?
We provide specialized solutions across a wide range of industries, including:
- Heavy Industrial & Equipment
- Automotive
- Agriculture
- Energy
- General Manufacturing
Can you assist with design optimization before production begins?
Absolutely. Our engineering team performs a Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessment during the technical review. We actively collaborate with you to refine designs, improve manufacturability, and optimize costs before tooling begins. We can also create 3D models and prototypes to validate concepts.
Quality & Standards
Can you provide Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation?
Yes. PPAP documentation is mandatory for all parts we manufacture. Our team is experienced in preparing complete packages, including:
- Material certifications
- Dimensional inspections
- Control plans
- FMEA analysis
- Signed warrant documents
How do you protect proprietary documents and ensure confidentiality?
We treat all customer documentation with the highest level of security. All employees and supply chain partners are bound by Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) to safeguard your proprietary information throughout every stage of the process. Your intellectual property is safe with WSS.
Are you ISO certified?
Yes. We are ISO 9001 certified, ensuring that our quality management systems meet rigorous international standards. This certification governs our processes across both our domestic and global facilities, ensuring consistent results regardless of where your part is produced.
Operations & Logistics
Who handles the customs clearance and import documentation?
WSS manages the entire process. We partner with trusted logistics companies to handle all customs clearance, tariffs, and comprehensive documentation requirements. We provide a seamless “door-to-door” experience, so you don’t have to navigate complex trade regulations.
Do you offer inventory management or stocking programs?
Yes. Through our U.S. warehousing facilities, we offer flexible inventory management solutions, including periodic inventory pulls. This allows you to store bulk inventory at our facility and pull products as needed to meet your production schedule, stabilizing your supply chain without utilizing your own floor space.
What are your typical lead times?
Lead times vary depending on the manufacturing process, location (Domestic vs. Import), and tooling requirements. Typical timelines include:
- Casting patterns: ~20 days
- Forging patterns: ~20 days
- PPAP sample submission: 20–30 days
- Production runs (Import): ~90 days
- Production runs (Domestic): 15–20 days (when raw material is supplied)
